Please someone help !!
Here Is what I have:
NT 4.0 Workstation SP3 on a 2 drive system as follows
Maxtor-13 gig total<--DID NOT SHIP WITH MAX-?
drive 0 c:fat 2-gig d:fat 2-gig,9 Gig blank
Seagate--1/2 gig
drive 1 e: NTFS, this is where NT is and the
PROBLEM !!
NT is on a peer to peer network with a W$-ME
machine and all I want to do is backup NT
SOMEWHERE and possiable reinstall it on the maxtor hard drive, when I first installed NT
I was faced with the the BULL about the maxtor having more than 1024 cyl etc. so in my haste I found a way to install it with a drive I had laying around <---bad mistake ,
I have run out of room on E: and can not bear the thought of ever Reinstalling WINBLOW$ from scratch, I have already bought
PQ Magic ( box said NT on the outside docs
said NO GO with NTFS ) I have downloaded GHOST, we know where that got me.
Any Help with this is GREATLY APPRECIATED in
advance.
Out of money and just waiting oneday to meet
BIG BILL and maybe ask for ALL my MONEY back

THANK YOU :)

Instead of worrying about a refund, spend a little more time doing your homework and checking product compatibility. Maybe your problems are YOUR fault and not Bill's.

Unlike Professor Refund, I do not think guilt and blame will take you one step closer to arriving at a solution to this problem.

I do, however, share his observation that getting the best of what NT has to offer requires a major commitment of time and space. It was only after several years of frustration with upgrading my computers and network that I finally allocated a wall in one of my rooms as a computer workspace with a large shelf which functions as a lab "bench" for testing hardware configurations and software applications before I screw down the case bolts on one of my machines. The bench also has all the necessary sockets for connecting to both my intranet and the Internet via modem. If this degree of commitment is too much for you, just bring the computer to a shop and ask them to do the work for you, being very specific that you won't pay for anything less than exactly the system that you described above.

I think you'll find that hardly anyone would be willing to accept the machine under the terms of that agreement. Best case scenario is that you're going to have to reinstall the operating system from scratch. And I'll be surprised if someone volunteers to disagree with that assessment.

Instead of looking at the grief of instaling NT from scratch, imagine yourself as an NT expert when the project is complete.

If, then, you are absolutely certain that you want to go through with this, make up your mind that you're going to write a log of every step you take in getting from point A to point B. That way, instead of dreading having to retrace your tracks at some future time, you will have reconciled yourself to the fact that nobody can teach you anything as successfully as you can teach yourself.

Think of knowledge as the great equalizer. No amount of money will buy you the experience of being an expert. It can only buy you a piece of paper. In the current corporate environment you may be cynical about credentials and even about expertise itself, but I assure you, a few years down the road the chaff will have been separated from the wheat, and the knowledge you acaquire today will not have been for naught.

The knowledge you capture in that log will be something that no one can take away from you under any circumstances.

As for concise and relevant advice,... find all the essential data files in your applications. Back those up and stop fretting about reinstalling the applications. They will reinstall exactly as they did during the first install if your OS is running properly.

Service Pack 3 is not as stable as Service Pack 4. I have a lot of confidence in Service Pack 6a, and urge you to order the CD directly from Microsoft at:

Or you can download it for free from:
