I need help with Backup Exec 7.01 using a Sony TSL-9000 tape drive. I am using the sonysdx driver from veritas, but Backup Exec will not see the tape drive as a changer. I tried the tape drive on another machine and was able to get it to work using the same driver. I checked the devices in the control panel and SCSI Changer, Sony7000 will not start. However, the sonysdx-vrts starts. I can't start the other devices manually either.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Is this an eval. If so give veritas a ring and they will give free support. I have been talking to them recently and one of the techies mentioned that not all sony tape drives are compatable as some of the firmware is different, meaning it has to go to sony. They also have a tech notes area on their web site which may also help.

Cheers
Lee
