i upgraded my operating system from windows 98 to windows 2000 profesinal built on nt technology now it says i have no driver for my multimedia audio controller
The reason for this is because you have a windows 98 audio driver loaded when you need a 2000 driver to go with your O/S.
You need to identify what audio controller you have either by opening the machine and seeing which one you have or get some software that will identify your machines components. When you have identified which audio controller ( ie manufacturer and model no: ) you have you need to go to the manufacturers webside and download the latest drivers for the model no you have that runs on 2000. Once downloaded run them on your machine.

I'm having the same problems, only I've upgraded to Windows XP. What kind of software will identify your computer's components because I'd hate to open my system up.
