Comment:

I have two servers, a PDC and a BDC that are connected in a LAN. The PDC has a tape drive. I am using NTBackup and AT to backup the PDC, and it works well.

However, I have difficulties backing up the BDC (from the PDC).

I have the BDC drives mapped logically on the PDC.
When I am standing at the computer and run my ntbackup command for the BDC command it works fine.

However when it kicks off overnight, I get the message:

You do not have permission to access portions of SERVER_BDC.

I assume that its the System Account that does not have these rights, and the documentation says that I need to start the Task Schedule with an account that has rights on the BDC. However, when I go into the Services configuration for the Task Scheduler, I am disallowed from changing the account that it uses.

Any ideas? or do I have to do out and purchase Backup Exec?

I figured it out. By installing Service Pack 6a I upgraded to IE 5.0 which comes with its own scheduler. I was not able to change the login name under task scheduler under services.

However when I went into "Scheduled Tasks" in NT Explorer (right under my nose) I saw my AT tasks there. I was able to modify the job there, and change the login name of the task. It now works fine.
