Hello, I have a network mainly run by novell but we have 1 NT server that has dhcp set up on it for one site's subnet. The other site is using a Novell server to pass out ip's. We also have voice over IP across the LAN. There are a total of 8 phone switches in the lan. They are managed by the NT server. Problem is that we had a bad storm that knocked out power for a week. When we came back all of the switches picked up their IP addresses by themselves like always, but one did not. I have taken this switch to the actual phone server's subnet and it picks up an address but when I take it to the far side it won't find it still, the switch obviously works. I have been advised by the Voice over IP techies that our far side has always been a pain with these switches & that I will need to set this switch's MAC address to it's proper subnet's ip address. Our NT server is passing out 192.168.1.? addresses and our novell server on the far side is passing out 192.168.2.? addresses. They said I will need to assign these addresses in the phone server software as well as in the DHCP manager, problem here is that this subnet is passing out 1.? and I will need to assign this switch a 2.40 address. I have it setup in the software already but I have no clue how to do this without screwing everything up in the dhcp manager? Any ideas. Thanks for your help Penny
