Hi guys, I´ve ran across a weird problem and I hope someone can give me a clue on how to solve this. I have a NT4 server which until a month ago had Arcserve 6.5 (build 620). It was uninstalled and installed into another server, but due to problems with that second server we had to remove it and install it back on the original server. The problem is, now the Arcserve services (Tape Engine, Job Engine, Database Engine and such) won´t start logging on as System Account as they did before the uninstallation. Instead, I must set them to log on as Administrator, otherwise they will return an "access denied" error. I must add that during the time Arcserve was on the other server, the admin password changed. But now in the original server everything seems configured as before. The system account is set properly in Arcserve Server Admin and all logon rights and share permissions are configured properly as indicated in the CA support webpage.
I am able to do backup jobs and such, but I want to manage the server from my workstation, which also has Arcserve. But since the reinstallation I couldn´t access it remotely, being given an "access denied" everytime I try to connect to the server. I suspect this is being caused by the way the services are logging on, so I ask... does anyone know how to solve this?.
Of course, I´ve uninstalled and reinstalled Arcserve both on the server and on my workstation but this didn´t work.
Thanks in advance.
Andrés
