Greetings All.
I'm somewhat new to the scripting game, and I hope thatthe answer isn't somewhere here allready.
The situation in particular is relating to AOL instant messenger(yeah, I know I know, I'd rather not have it, but my customers want to use it, and I'd rather have their money so that I can pay my rent)anyway... On Login, I have a login script to copy their Aol Info (buddy list etc etc) to the local machine under aim's directory
%systemroot%\aim95\%aol_Losername%

xcopy %homedrive%\settings\%aolusername%\*.* %systemroot%\aim95\%aolusername%\ /E /Q

However, What I want it to do is copy itself back afterwards, such that my workstations don't get all clagged up with aol buddylists, and such that the users buddylists get updated at logoff.
(somewhat Like the profile.. updating at logoff.. You know what I mean)
Is this something that I need to do with POLedit or the like.

At the moment, I'm just making sure that these things get copied back manually, then removed, but !ack. I've got much better things to do than copy these things around the network. (like learning how to have it done automatically =)
Thanks heaps.
If anyone wishes to know how to get ICQ roaming a WinNT Domain.. such that contact list remain intact, and not locked down give me a yell.
Thanks for your assistance...
!ack
better give you all my system speccies..
WinNT server SP5 controlling all the crap.
nuff ram and HDD space
WinNT workstation SP6 with
nuff ram again
ie 5.01 among other bunches of crap.
AIM95 installed to network drive..
Shared as Y:\Netapps\aim95
thanks again.
Pirate.. Your methods.. amusing.. your knowledge.. obviuosly right up there..
I hope that too many people don't get offended by your manner, and take note of the help that you're trying to provide, albeit in a rather inyerface manner, thunbs up for keeping it in character though.
regards
Fylar
