Here is the scenario,

Remote site using NT Workstations, links by fixed kilostream and routers. Using TCP/IP only

Different IP addresse to main site

LMHOSTS and HOST files all set with PRE# and DOM# FOR PDC and BDC's can ping all required servers, BDC's PDC at main site both ways.

Using NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD can see domain and all machines.

However, when attempt to join domain am told hat machine cananot find domain controller ?

Demoted PDC and premoted on of the BDC's , synchronised...but still nothing.

Anyone got any ideas that I havn't tried yet ?

Try this, on logon retype the domain name your trying to logon to.... Also in the network properties in the service > computer browser properties make sure the PDC name is listed, if not add it in...

I take it there is no firewall between the sites, also. what version of SP are the machines using. I've had problems "finding" domain controllers with anything less than SP3.

good luck,
Rich
