this sounds like a spoof posting I know but why is`nt it possible to boot any nt-based windows into fully functional non-gui mode, like Linux, not just the pathetic recovery console. If any microsoft employees are reading this, Please finally provide this ability in the next version (os/2 can be booted to cmd.exe from floppies, why not windows?)

If you want apples to taste like oranges then perhaps you should create that GMO that will do what you want.
But to complain about a gui when you want command line doesn't make any sense.
Load a OS that does command line shell and be done with it. You might want to ask yourself what the purpose of a gui is all about. Perhaps you are actually asking for a more sophisticated gui and really don't mean nongui shell.
