Hi,
I had to re-format my hard drive and after re-installing windows NT 4.0 I have not been able to connect to my service providers with either my ISDN line or my regular modem (they are two different providers).
I use NT 4.0 workstation and am not connected to a network, this is my regular at home machine. After the NT reinstall, I installed TCP/IP, my modem and my ISDN modem. I then configured RAS with both modems. Then I installed Service Pack 6 to upgrade components. (I had been operating up to this without a service pack.) I also checked the ports and they both seem to be alive and well and correctly configured (speed-wise).
But up until now, no luck. When I use dial-up networking to connect to my SP, The connection is made, but then rejected by the SPīs server. This happens on two different sps with two different modems. I have double-checked the connection configurations on both, the DNS, the passwords, etc. and all seems to be correct. By I keep getting rejected. The fact that both connections get bounced in the same manner leads me to believe that I have something incorrectly configured on my machine, so that when I make a request to my SP for a connection, something is missing and therefore I get bounced.
Any ideas? Iīm just an amateur and I have really no more ideas on how to get back on-line. I would really appreciate some help from an expert.
thanks
jorge

Hrmm...Does your ISP use static IP addressing? Do they have a required netbios name? Check those things too.
