Comment: Bear with me - this is quite wordy. And forgive me for posting in NT, but I understand that XP works in a similar way. My XP contracted a virus, and running AVG quarantined all my executables, with the result that I can no longer get into windows. I installed another version of XP alongside the one which doesn't work, and that's now given me access to the hard drive, and therefore most of my stuff. However, the stuff which was in the "My Documents" for the ADMIN account of my original Windows is not accessible - no privileges to acces it. How can I get the stuff out of this directory. I know there are some pretty good hacks out there ( for instance I have one which will reset all passwords ), but I can't find one to do this. Help!...please.

Reply: (edit)From XP, logged in as administrator, take ownership of the My documents folder. This is found in the secuity tab. Make sure you have all rights to the folder. Now you will be able to copy or whatever you want. No extra utilities or hacks required.
