2 servers can't see each other in Networ

I have got 2 PDC (A & B) having different subnet masks. A is having a private IP and B is utilising a public IP.
Both parties are able to ping one another and when I do a computer search from A, I am able to access to the shared folders in B.
However, from B, I can't even search for A. I thought it was suppose to be a 2 way communication since B can trace route all the way to A.

I'm new to this stuff but here is my take...
This is a problem with the NetBios browse lists not passing though the router from server A to B.
1. Verify that Server A has the netbeui protocol installed 2. Verify that there are WINS servers on both sides of the router and they are configued as push-pull partners.
If that doesn't work, you could try configuring the router to pass netbios broadcasts. Be careful though, as this would create a lot of extra network traffic.

when you said 2 PDCs did you mean a PDC and a BDC? you can't have 2 PDCs. You can have as many BDCs as you wish.

You should only have ONE PDC (Primary Domain Controller) !!! Make the lokal Server a BDC (Backup Domain Controller). Think thats the Prob - there can only be one ..... PDC :-) May the source be with you - try to learn more about Linux and change the System ;-) Best wishes, Corban
