Hi,
I have the default ftp-site an a new one on the same IIS 4.0 server. Now, if I want to start the default after the new one, it says, there is duplicate name in network.
How can I make both ftp-sites running ?
Regards
Klaus

I am going to guess a little bit about what you want to do:
you have www.somesite.com
ftp.somesite.comyou want www.somesite.com
ftp.somesite.com
ftp2.somesite.comSince you cannot do "virtual hosting" with ftp, you need to take the following steps...
1.) Bind another IP address to your web server (done through network properties panel)
2.) Add a DNS record for the new address that points to ftp1.somesite.com (ensure that the original IP's DNS record points to the default FTP and web sites)
3.) Open the MMC on the server, go to the properties of the default ftp site and make sure it is set to listen for requests on the original IP and port 21.
4.) Go to the properties of the new ftp site and change it to listen on the newly assigned IP and port 21 (also ensure that you have the home/root directory pointing where you want, ie; a different directory if the info is unrelated on the sites)
5.) Stop and restart both ftp sites and you should be in business.

Pardon my typos, just woke up... the new DNS record will point to ftp2.somesite.com
I hope this helps.

Thx for your help, but after I changed the port from one site from 21 to 22, it was ok and both sites are running.
Regards
Klaus
