I would like to have a separate email address from my families for business purposes. Is Yahoo free a good choice? Is there any down side to it? Thanks.

I use Yahoo and liked it so much that I got the paid version, so I have no limits on the amount of data I can send/receive. There is also a limit to the amount data you can store for the free version. I use it to reduce any chance of getting a virus/trojan/worm problem and to reduce spam.

Well I have a yahoo address and also a hotmail one. but of the 2 i'd choose yahoo everytime, less junk mail for starters, plus you get 6 megs storage for your mail and 30megs for photos etc at yahoo. hotmail you get 2 megs storage.

Em,I used to use a Yahoo mail addy for almost everything. One of the things they have changed in their quest for the almighty dollar is that they no longer allow POP3 acess on their free mail service. I liked using OE to check my mail without my having to go to the site and since they decided that was a no no,I found another free service via Google which allows POP3 acess. Otherwise, their free service is a gem! HTH. Ed in Texas.
