word freezes

Whenever I log in to my computer at startup, word freezes if i try to execute it. If I cancel out and don't log in, it works fine. I even tried a complete removal and reinstall of word, so it's obviously exclusive to my profile. What makes this happen? More importantly, does anyone know how to fix it without doing a complete system restore? I'm running WinMe on a P3-400 with 128megs of ram. I'm using barely one ninth of the hard drive. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA,

start by getting all your service packs and security patches up to date at microsoft,, Then try this go to system in the control panel and turn down graphics this should work.good luck

It might be a bad Normal.dot template in your profile. Do a search for Normal.dot and delete them. When you start word again it will regenerate a new Normal.dot.
