Hello folks, I've just installed Windows ME
on my P3, 300 , 320 meg.....
for some reason........each time I play any .avi files on my windows media player...... it gives me an error saying...
wmplayer.exe has caused an error to kernel32.dll or......something like kernel32.dll has caused an error due to wmplayer and will shut down.....
then my whole comp freezes and I have to not only reboot...but turn the switch off my computer, turn it back on and then reboot.
can anybody help me with this ?...
thank you very much

Are you trying to watch DivX .AVI files or just normal ones?

I uninstalled wmplayer 7.1 and installed
wmplayer 6.4.....
but it still gives me the same error message
this time it's..
cuz of mplayer2, it has caused a kernel32.dll...

I also get a "Wmplayer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL" every time I open WMplayer. This happens only since I installed WinMe. Have you been able to resolve the problem?

I get the exact same error: "Wmplayer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL" every time I open WMplayer.

I also have the exact same failures: freezes, reboots and power offs, ect...I even tried the system restore feature. Nothing works!

My Wmplayer/PC worked flawlessly until I downloaded a game and then had to do an "uninstall" of the game. Help!
