I have a AMD K6,500Mhz computer.Just recently I had to install a new motherboard, both of my Hard drives crashed too.I formatted, part. both drives and put WinMe on one of them.Since then I have all kind of problems. 1. Windows can see all drives but when I want to use my CD-RW(with Roxio cd-creator5.0) it tells me that I dont have one. 2. Every time my computer boots up this shows up: Can not identify your machine's settings.I don't think it caused me any trouble yet,but it's annoying. 3. My motherboard came with built in video and sound.I had to use the video because there is no slot for my video card. But I use my sound card, dissabled on board sound and.. the sound is not what is was before.Very noisy, lots of side noise so I don't want to listen to music at all.I went to the website to download a new driver but there is no driver listet! My soundcard is a creative labs Soundblaster PCI 164. 4. Before my hard drive crashed,I made a backup of both drives. Now I wanted to put my data back on my PC and I can't go into the backup.I can't pull any data from the CDs.I made the backup with easy cd-creator 5.0-Take2-backup program. When I open the CDs a explorer windows comes up and then it tells me that it can't be found, page not found.Like if you go to a website that is not working -page can not displayed. Please can anybody help me with these problems?Should I just go back to Win98??

hi, i have the same cpu and have no trouble with it. your problems are all board related. those socket 7 integrated motherboards are a big no-no in my opinion. you dont say how the drive are arranged, so if the hdd's are on the same cable switch the slave to the second cable and the cdrom to the first etc. some boards like the drives set up in a certain location so move the slave and cdrom around a bit till you get the right combo.
