WinMe won't boot up on C:

I have a Compaq Presario and two hard drives. The 8GB drive is where WinMe (upgraded from the resident Win95) is loaded. The machine won't boot up. ScanDisk tells me there are FAT errors on C:. I can boot up to DOS only using the WinMe startup floppy. How can I install WinMe onto my Drive D: and boot up from there?

You can't (well, you might be able to, but probably shouldnt).
While at the a:\, type scandisk c: (press enter). Scandisk may fix the FAT errors. If it says they are fixed, but ME will still not boot, type sys c: (press enter) at the a:\ (only if it tells you the FAT's have been fixed and it still does not boot).
Post back with the results of the above if they do not work. There are other things to try.
I presume you want to install ME on D so that you can save some data from C. The only way you can do this is to make D the primary master by changing its jumpers and putting it in the primary master position on the IDE channel and make the old C drive the secondary master, now in the D position. Then install Windows on your former D drive, now in the C primary master position.
