If the Taskbar is behaving strangely, try exiting Multimedia background task support module.
Module Name: mmtask.tsk
Description: Multimedia background task support module
Version: 4.90.3000
Product: Microsoft Windows
Manufacturer: Microsoft CorporationAny ideas how to fix this problem?

When I run Dr.Watson I see that same message as well, yet I haven't noticed any issues with the tasbar. This also shows up on a totatlly different computer, that also has Windows ME, so I think it is a standard message.

I get the same message from Dr. Watson.
The taskbar is indeed behaving strange. Sometimes after start up , note, only sometimes, the hidden taskbar does not pop up when pointing at it. I have to click it open. And then it doesn't hide when removing the pointer, I have to click somewhere on the desktop to hide it.
And the same problem with menus with the black arrow to the right, indicating there is a sub-menu. The sub-menu does not pop up when pointing to such a menu. I have to click it open. This regardless if it is a program menu (FILE, EDIT etc.) or a menu under START, for instance the PROGRAM menu, I have to click it open.
How do I exit the Multimedia background task support module?
