Hi I have an NEC 7500A cd burner (came with my micron PC) ... im running adaptec cd creator 4.05 . trying to burn music CDs every time i burn a CD it burns fine ... but then at the end it either gives me an error message (varied: comctl32.dll, creatr32 error, etc) ... or goes to a black screen with only mouse pointer visible. CDs seem to be fine, just program/computer crashes after each burn

I would dump that program. I've used it and it's nothing but trouble. I've seen the same thing happen with other systems. I switched to Nero and no problems!

It happened to me too. I am now using nero and it is doing fine. You can download it at http://www20.brinkster.com/zekoslav/cdr.htm
You may have to look up the serial code on the internet.

Sounds like you don't have all the ASPI layer files installed. Do a web search for Aspichk and download it. It tells you if the files are installed properly.
Nero will be fine when it's finished ... it's handling of CDRW media is pathetic.
