Windows wont start

CPU/Ram: 512

I get a load screen error that says: searching boot record floppy not found, searching for boot record from IDE-0..ok starting windows98

type the name of the command interpreter "e.g.; c:\windows\command.com"

A:\>sdram at dimm

searching for boot

...what is it, how do i fix, I'm an idiot.

sorry A:\> doesnt have "sdram at dimm" ...that's just my typo. :D

Possible virus!! Had same problem a while back. The master boot record and file allocation table were altered. Without a known file structure windows can't run, and the drive is unaccessible (basically unformatted).

I had to format and reinstall windows (lost everything). Saving backups of files periodically is the only way to ensure you will have them later!

Solution format and reinstall windows.
