Windows Temp Folder Okay to Delete

Are the files I find in my Windows\Temp folder just useless stuff that it's okay to remove from the folder? Some of this looks like it relates to programs I use.

I apologize for the above message. I committed the cardinal sin of not searching for similar posts before posting that question. Please don't bother answering. For those who might benefit, the answer is yes, in general, almost anything that appears in the temp folder can be dumped. Apparently, delindex is something I should be using to clear this folder. Sorry for the post. Forgive the clutter.

No problem I use Delindex set up as a task to clear index.dat files on start up using the delta command. I also use EmpTemp which YOU set up to empty all of your TEMP folders on start-up AND I use SpyBotS&D to clear all user tracking so the machine stays clean, together with RegSeeker to clean out the registry of several thousand no longer used entries which can accululate over the years. Ed, I would only dump stuff from those folders after a fresh boot. ie not after you have been using the PC for a while in case as you say, these files are being used.
