I am working on that same problem right now. Mine started when I had @home internet service installed. My inlaws have the same problem as well after getting @home. Both of us are using Windows ME. I will post a fix when I come up with one. And FYI, there is not much about it on Microsofts web site either. Good luck to us all.

Had the same problem. Fixed it by taking off Detonator 3 driver for my nvidia video card and going with compaq driver, yes there is a degregation in performance.

The only fix I've found is to run scandisk each time before shutting down.

I fixed my shut down problem. I Downloaded D3 driver version 6.49 and viola! I tried them all, from 6.32 and up, and so far I have had NO problems with 6.49. Other drivers fixed the blue screen but created other problems like no display at all, or no D3D in games. Try them all and make sure everything (including your favorite games) work. You might find a different version works better for your system. Point your browser to this link and good luck.

I fixed mine by installing the Detonator version 6.50 from http://www.the-ctrl-alt-del.com/Drivers.htm
