Hi,
Lately when I've tried to play MPGs or MP3s on Windows Media Player, a message comes up on the lower left saying that the program is connecting to or looking for codec servers. This goes on for a minute or so, and then a message saying that there has been an error. MP3s don't play; MPEGs play, but with no sound.
Trying to play WMV or WMA files results in an error saying that they are not supported.
I have a similar problem. It searches for the codec, downloads it, then can't play the song and moves on to the next song right away. Then again, finds the codec, downloads it, can't play the song... It is so damn annoying because it just happens randomly during a playlist.
I downloaded all the codecs, from windows and I'm running WMP10, although the problem happened with 9 anyways.... I thought upgrading would fix it, but apparently not...
Anyone know what to do? Your help would be appreciated... Thanks JimmyJames
I m using WMP9,then i hav the same problem too!i watch the anime, but it has sounds only!No pictures!!!so i think update windows media would fix it,but the problems remain the same!!!i hav only sounds no pictures of the anime!! the anime is avi files..i click on Tools n choose Option, then File Types,i selected all of them!but it is still the same?anyone know what to do?pls help..
I downloaded a movie and tried to play it on Windows Media Player and it was an avi and it gave me a Codec error. It only played the sound, but the picture didn't play. So a friend told me about this other media player called VLC Media player and it worked. You can download it at download.com. After downloading the VLC Media Player, you open it, click quick open, then go to the destination where you have the movie, or music and it should play. This media player plays any format of movie. Good luck!!!!
