Help, I set up user profiles, deleted several items from the start menu (including accesories) and then I did something wrong, because all my user profiles are missing info in the start menu.
I have a Compaq 5000 series with pre installed software, so no windows ME cd.
I did try "scanreg /restore" and used an earlier date, but this did not help.
I would really like to not lose any data, if possible.

Did ya try Tools, and System restore?
Ya don,t need a Cd for that.
Try restoring a day befor yur computer acted up. Works for me all of the time.

Your WinME setup/install files are located
in C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\INSTALL

Search for *.pwl files and delete them. Reboot and select Cancel at startup
