We have owned this PC for 2 years..Received Norton Internet Security 2004 for Christmas..As we are loading NIS 2004 the installation process does a scan for worms and, viruses..A W32Magistr.39921@mm was detected in C:\RESTORE\TEMP|A0318647..After numerous attempts to repair and delete we eventually booted up the PC in DOS mode from our start up floppy and deleted the RESTORE folder..On the new startup we get the message hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE to restart your new computer..We do this and we keep getting the same message over and over "Hit CRTL-ALT_DELETE..Can you help us to restart Windows ME Oh yea we can start in Safe Mode....Thanks

Try booting into Safe Mode, and go to the C:\Windows folder. See if there is a file named WININIT.INI if found rename it to WINIINIT.BAK or just delete it. Then reboot and see if it solves the problem.
If it does not fix the problem, then from Safe Mode, uninstall Norton software. You may have to go to their web site to get details for completely un-installing the software.
