can anybody help me . I have a Lexmark printer with usb conns. Device manager usb ports have no support for printer. If that file was there it's not now. or corruped. lpt1 port will not support the printer. many thanks ve3te
Right-click My Computer Click on Properties Click on the Hardware tab Click on the device Manager button Scroll down as needed until you see Universal Serial Bus Controllers Expand that by clicking on the boxed plus sign in front of Universal Serial Bus Controllers At this point you should if you see something like, "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller". While the exact text may vary, the key is the word "Enhanced". If it's "Enhanced", it's USB 2.0. If it's not, then it's USB 1.x
Thanks Street1 The usb serial bus does indeed says standard enhanced pci to usb Host controller. The Lexmark Printer is a Z605. I have a new driver dnld'd from their site. Spoke to Lexmark support who are great and the young lady tried 3 times and then had to run. Can't see how I cud use any usb printer. Thank you kindly ve3te
Okeedokee. Got that into my thick skull. The girl at Lexmark told me as much. ie You have no USB Printer support. Thanks for all your time , really appreciate it. Will look around for usb2 card. ve3te
