Guys - Need help.
I have reformatted my hard drive - result. I made a disk before i did it - another result but now i can't get my ME to re-install.
I put the disk in switch on - the disk does its thing but I can't seem to figure out how to get the CD-ROM to get going.
I've tried E:SETUP but to no avail - I've tried all sorts.
Can one of you more intelligent folks guide this PC Imbicile?

"I've tried E:SETUP but to no avail"

Some accurate detail might help.

I would expect something more like this:

Not ready reading drive E
Abort, Retry, Fail?

Absolutely right.
What are the next steps? Is something wrong?
Could it be that something has disconnected internaly?
I hit A or F and it goes back to the prompt.

I have been searching this site and have all sorts to try but you may have the 'Holy Grail' of solutions. I've just seen your web site. I'll have a look.
Thanks for your help.

Well it looks like the problem just left me.
I put in F:setup and it ran - it would appear my CR Drive was F not E.
I have now just go to sort the monitor's setting as ME won't let me adjust the resolution and, WORD, as it asks for a product key - as it is a Dell machine it didn't come with one.
Thanks for responding to try and help.

you can't adjust the resolution because you need to re-install the graphics drivers. Most likely to be at dell's site, unless is a 3rd party graghics card in which case you may have to go to there site.

A model designation or service tag would be helpful.

Guys it's a Dell machine (Dimension 4100) so all the info (driver info) is on the resource CD I think, but, I just can't get it off and istalled.
I load the CD, after ME has booted up, but all I get is info - no real way to kick an instalation.
