hi there, i am having a serious problem with windows ME, when i log on it asks for a password and i always click cancel, never put my pass in (please dont ask why). so, ever since i got a router, the ogon box changed to plese log onto the network, so i clicked cance as i would normally, but then the next day, i accidently clicked OK, when i did that the PC froze, so i help in power buttton and trned it off, when i next turned it on, it got to the windows me splash screen and then went black and had a flashing cursor at the top left. so again i turned it of and booted up into safe mode, the splash screen showed, then just before the windows netwok logon bo cam up, the PC just froze and i cant move the mouse or do CTRL + ALT + DEL. Also i dont have a windows ME startup disk and cant access control panel to make one, i also have a laptop running windows Xp home with NO floppy drive, so i cant make a boot disk from the laptop, any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanx

I don't know what you think you're gonna accomplish, but you can download a file to create a bootdisk from here:
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

i tried that but when i ran the app it said cannot find A:\ or floppy or something, i cant burn it to CD-R

sorry, it sais insert floppy to write, but i dont have a floppy drive so i put in a cd-r then it said the current image format is not supported by the disk drive

You have to download the correct file, run it, & insert a formatted floppy when prompted...the necessary files will be transferred to the floppy & it will be made bootable. Then you simply boot off it & go from there...

i cannot use the windows ME desktop PC ATALL and my laptop HASNT got a floppy drive so i cant make a boot disk

Make a friend who has a floppy drive and go from there. You've already made this more complicated than it needs to be.

Just a side note here.
You can make a CD from your computer in order to boot to true DOS on a DOS system. But you need to burn it as an image or ISO CD.

It works.
