Comment: I am having a few problems with some Windows ME machines in my office. When they connect to my Windows 2000 SBS server they seem to slow down considerably and with permanently mapped drives they intermitantly loose the connection. If I disconnect the drives and reconnect them, they usually work fine again for a while. We have win 98 and 95 machines on the same network, with the same mapped drives, and they work fine and run much faster than the ME machines. Is this a known ME problem and is there a patch or update I can install to cure it.

Reply: (edit)I found out a way to speed up Win me Network. It will probably not solve all your problems but at least speed up your network navigation. This reg key disable the netcrawling option of Windows Me. [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "NoNetCrawling"=dword:00000001
