Welcome to the world of Mean Engineering or ME. First of all you are fortunate that it comes up in Safe mode. I'd try taking out all the legacy and even PNP ISA cards. Me can even byte perfectly good PCI cards but it is less likely. Hopefully you can get up in normal mode and start adding them back in. Before you pull cards make sure you have the install and driver discs. ME has a minimal capabilities.

My Win ME, locks up entire PC whenever I clickon "Win ME Media Player". Everything goes dead, mouse quits, media player appears and looks like its "playing"? Can't even turn PC off with tower's on/off switches! Have to pull plug from wall? Software interupts problem? I emailed Microsoft's trouble site - no answer yet. Its a repeatable problem.

Re: Media Player lock up. I had the same problem, but found the ME installed the Media Player in the Programs file under !$!$!$ mp2. The Media file contained an older version of Media Player. When I deleted the old version and moved the files for the new version into the Media file all went well.

Joey,
I believe I have the same problem as you. When Windows ME is detecting my hardware during installation, my computer locks up too. Did you overcome this problem? If so, how?
