Subject: Windows Me Internet Connection Problem |
Comment: This problem is the latest among a myriad of Windows Me Stepup problems. Was unable to connect to AOL 6.0 as a new user. Got/applied the Microsoft fix. Was able to get into AOL once. Now, a few seconds after I connect, WAOL crashes, I get kicked off and AOL itself disappears. Cannot connect anywhere else as well. Seems like Windows Me Stepup version is a junker.

Reply: (edit)David, email me and i will send you the list of fixes that i tried... not all fixes work for everybody... maybe one of them will work for you... is your computer new? still under waranty?.... i got the same problem... after 3 months still not satisfactory resolved.... SQUEEZE the technical support of the computer dealer... record every phone conversation with them (you have to notify them that you are recording) that way they will at least take you seriously... take screen prints of every error messages and save them....ask for a FREE new WORKING modem from them... or ASK for a FREE unlimited reliable internet provider from them ( you can connect to AOL from any internet provider).... dont accept any suggestions to use netzero ok kmart or any other that takes away half of your usable screen area for advertisements... let them be creative to satisfy you... Regards Miro
