Windows ME hangs, "ddhelp.exe" not responding

Comment:
Win ME regularly (once or more per day) hangs up as it's going to the screen saver: black screen, cursor visible and can be moved.
Ctrl-Alt-Del always shows "ddhelp.exe" as not responding. Ending the task solves the problem.
Anyone else seen this? Any known solutions? What is ddhelp.exe for anyway?
Thanks Tony 5-month old IBM ThinkPad, PIII, 192MB RAM, 11.21G HDD, upgraded a month ago to Win ME from 98.
