We had Roadrunner installed in June. My son downloaded Kazaa shortly after. Since then the computer does nothing but freeze. We discovered all of the spyware, ran Spybot Search & Destroy, but it still freezes. Does anyone have any other ideas on what else we might try to get this problem solved?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Since it could be either program, try the following. Uninstall Kazaa and get KazaaLite which usually runs better. If that doesn't solve it, uninstall RoadRunner and see if there is an improvement. If not, run through the tips on the homepage link on this response.

We downloaded and ran Kazaabegone. It found lots of remmants of Kazaa. We ran Spybot again, updated our virus protection. It is still freezing. Does anyone have any other ideas on what else we can try?

Thanks in advance for your help. Kazaabegone is a great piece of software.

Hi Barb. If it's only freezing when your cable or dsl modem is connected then it may be a problem with your isp. Try disabling the modem and reboot to see if windows me still freezes. It's possible that the drivers need updating or your isp have made some changes that may be causing this problem. Sorry I don't have a real solution...yet.

-good luck
