Hi,

I have installed Kazaa on my machine running Windows ME and am now getting 2 error messages:

1) Pgmonitv has caused an error in PGSDK.DLL
and
2) unhandled exception c0000005 at Address 1000c736

Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Regards
Steve

Uninstall Kazaa as soon as possible!
You will get virus like W32.benjamin
and you are allready full of spywares.
Search this forum to see all big problems from using it.

Download a program called Adaware...it will locate & delete all the spyware that was installed by KaZaA. I'm not sure if uninstalling KaZaA will remove the spyware along with it...probably not. Better safe than sorry.

Then download & install KaZaA Lite...it's spyware free.

That's true edsod...I should have included that...thanks.

Since we're on the topic, it'd be a good idea to make sure your antivirus DAT files are up to date & then run a deep scan on your system.

Can you backup your claim that Ad-Aware is actually spyware?

I've never heard of PestPatrol before. I think the majority of people that use such programs either use Ad-Aware or Spybot-Search & Destroy.

I would srtongly suggest that Hey There is mistaken in his belief regarding AdAware. But I really thought that by now everyone was aware of the dangers of Kazaa, lite or otherwise!

If you're still following this- Dump Kazaa- Use Adaware to clean the spyware out of your machine, then go to www.winmx.com- Seems to be the hot ticket right now...

If you have KAZAA, (even the lite), REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY! I have only had problems with it. It even allowed some hacker to unlawfully upload new firmware into my DSL modem making it useless. Kazaa is a spyware program; even if you d/l the lite version, hackers still have multiple ways of entering your computer through backdoors that have been left open. Please take my advice. If you REALLY feel the need to share your warez, I suggest programs like iMesh, Shareaza, Morpheus, or WinMX (although WinMX is pretty lousy and queues for files are huge). These other p2p's mentioned contain ads, but NO SPYWARE, thus they are safer than Kazaa.
