Hi,
I seem to have solved most of the problems with windows ME, I have been
experiencing but there is one problem I cant solve or find anyone else who
has had the same problem. I have a dell 733, 128 megs ram, 15 gig harddrive,
32DDR GTS GeForce2 Graphics card.I keep getting this error 'explorer caused a general protection fault in
module krnl386.exe'
Either in a blue screen of death or just in a windows box that's says
'explorer caused a general protection fault in module krnl386.exe, if you
keep experiencing the error try restarting your computer, .. CLOSE'I also get the error messages that kernel32 has caused an error in
krnl386.exe and also that msgsrv32 has caused an error in krnl386.exe.Usually after I close the error message a blue screen of death comes up with
an OE message, OE 187 : BFF8E643. I try and close down this blue screen by
clicking a button but it just keeps coming up again and again and eventually
I have to restart the computer.the krnl386.exe errors happen randomly but I can get them to come up by
doing 2 things so far. One is opening msconfig and then when I close it the
error comes up. The other is when I quit this game of mine called Dune 2000.
Other then those two things (what I have noticed so far) the error is
random. It will normally happen approx once or twice a day or sometimes much
more. The computer came with Windows ME already installed, it was not updated.
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks in advanced for your replies.

I had similar problems until I changed my RAM
card. Once my RAM was changed, all the error messages disappeared.

hOW DO YOU CHANGE YOUR RAM joe. I know this sounds basic, but I am new to the computer game. I get the kernal32 error and my computer locks up frequesntly. help!!!

already updated internet explorer and seeing as this is a new dell computer (and dell ships millions of the same computers of which i have) i dont think it has faulty ram.
i suspect it has something to do with my video drivers or something.
i dont know, but what i do know is i still need more help if any one else has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.

I just got a Micron PC with Windows ME. I am getting the problem with "MSGSRV32 has caused an error in KRNL386.exe". My system usually crashes so hard that I need to cycle power to get it to restart. I get this error when I try to do anything with a new HP Scanjet 4300c. Looking at the HP web site, there is nothing there about this problem and I have downloaded and installed the most recent patch for the scanner that they have. Does anyone know how to fix this or is anyone else experiencing this too?

I have a simliar problem,whenever i exit a
computer game a error message shows involving
kernel32.dll and krnl386.exe.
Any help?
