Hi, I recently installed Windows 2000 Pro and accidentally instead of replacing ME it installed with ME. I had problems with my computer after that so I said screw it, I want to get rid of 2000. So, I deleted the WINNT file which is where 2000 was but in ME, I can't find the boot.ini file to remove it from booting by default to 2000. Where do I find this file, and once I find it, which lines to I need to delete????? PLEASE HELP!!!!

In Explorer you will have to alter file view settings to unhide hidden and system files. The boot.ini will be on the root of your C drive. Don't bother editing it. Firstly if you do not have a ME bootdisk then make one. Boot to this and when you get to the A:/ prompt type in the following command and press enter key sys c:
this will enable ME to boot direct without going through the NT bootloader that was installed by 2k. Remove the bootdisk and restart. Once in ME you then locate and delete boot.ini, ntldr, ntdetect and bootsect.dos files which should be found in the root directory of C drive.
