We have a Laptop Compaq armada110(64 MB Ram) loaded with windows ME. when I play a flash presentation(4 MB file), Laptop hangs or it plays to some extent, and again starts back from the begining or it runs only audio while the video hangs.
The same flash presentation is being played in windows98 system with 32 mb ram.

Please help me out to resolve the problem.
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Raju

There is no compatibility problems between Win ME & Flash. But
There is a Memory leak problem with Win ME , which causes all these problems.

Becuase of this , it hangs or says 'insufficient memory' msg when we try to open some application. Sometimes as simple as IE.

We have a HP - 128 mb RAM RUNS ON win ME.
That doesn't give any problems with Flash.

For the time being upgrade your RAM to 128.

better upgrade to 192, the difference in price between a 64 and 128 memory stick is negligible

wrong again miro. i'd rather have 128 than 64
any day. if you get 128 and add it to the 64
you'll get the 192 anyway. ANY ram increase is worth the effort.

All this said. i have never seen or can think of any reason why the flash movie would start all over again unless looped to do so. The hangs, problems with audio, playing a little bit then hanging again i have seen, usually due to the creator of the movie not allowing for load time or internet connection speed and possibly the problems mentioned above about the windows memory leak. If it only plays once an the other computer then stops its not set up to loop. If it does however play then start from the beginning again it is. is this flash movie being viewed local or is it on the internet? Local=saved to your computer. If on the internet post a link so that others can attempt to recreate the problem. Do the two computers share the same internet connection speed? If on the internet have you attempted to view it again now that its stored in temp internet files?

guru... you dont read the posts before answering them... i told him to upgrade memory to 192 meg instead to upgrade it to 128
if he has now only 64 meg ram it is he has to buy on 128 meg memory stick instead of one 64 meg memory stick... the price difference might be $15
the 128 is bare minimum for windows ME (considering the terrible memory leak that was discovered recently)
it is better to be above the bare minimum
