Windows Management Files Moved or Missing

When I go to Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Information, I'll get a 'Collecting Information ' screen, then a message comes up: 'Can't Collect Information. Cannot access windows management instrumentation software. Windows management files may be moved or missing'. EVERYTHING works fine on the computer. Does anyone have any ideas, other than reloading Windows Me? (I don't see a need to change the engine out in a car just because it won't start). Thanks in advance to all, Bruce

Install WIN-ME in place, don't save the old system files...they are corrupt!! For whatever reason the install/P&P auto detect screws up. Before you do it use it the way it is and see what else is messed up...I am sure that that is not the only problem you have!! I already found 2 large problems and 3 small ones. Shutting the machine down was a blast....installing in place seemed to correct my issues. My pals and I think the disks themselves are messed up!!
