Fdisk and formated computer. It had Win 98 se on it. Installed win me. now changed boot order so it would read floppy and well forgot wht it was. 1st time i rebooted it would only come up if floppy was in. then shut it down for a bit now wont come up at all. was going to fdisk again but say no fdisk present could use some help thanks for your help

Tried all still says incompatible on all of them push f1 to contiue. then require boot disk

Interpreting that as 'no fixed disks present', means that DOS fdisk can't find your hard drive - check the CMOS to ensure that there's an entry for it.

Might've gone South, but you may want to inspect the drive's cables and ensure they are snugly (& correctly) attached, or try different ones

Saying that XP is the most stable MS OS is like saying that asparagus is the most articulate vegetable

Doesn't really seem applicable at this point - either the drive has suddenly failed or the CMOS settings have gotten screwed up.

Can't do a whole lot until the drive is 'seen' - if fdisk has determined 'no fixed disks present', that's not very encouraging
