I have always copied images to a cd by right clicking on the folder and using the Send To command. However, just lately my cd rom drive isn't recognizing that I have a blank disk in it. It recognizes disks with images but not blank disks. It gives me the message to put in a disk. The D drive isn't even listed in the Send To.
I hope that someone can help me with this. Thanks.

Micki1960, SWAG, sounds to me like something's gotten corrupted. I'd suspect drivers and delete/reinstall.

I am a novice at all this. I know that I go to the Control Panel to delete the driver. How do I reinstall it?
Thanks.

If you got a computer with install disk use it. If you got a cd-writer after you got your computer use it.You can also get free cd-writer software at download.com
You can get an updated driver from the CD drive manufacturer website but you will have to know all the specs of the driver. Maybe have to open the machine
most CD drivers are common and are included in windows on your computer and this shouldnt be necessarryBesides that.. once you remove the driver through the control panel turn off the machine and turn it back on windows will say new hardware found and reinstall the original driver automatically
It sounds like you may have changed some Cd drive settings
you can check, right click my computer click properties and check disk settings there are some choices in there like automatically look for disk each time windows startsgood luck
I did what what was suggested and the cd rom did reinstall but still would not recognize a blank disk. Thanks, anyway.
