Windows cannot defrag ...

... even after a few thorough scandisk, which finds errors yet reports that it did not fix them. What is up with that?

What kind of error are you getting when you attempt to defrag? How much free space do you have on your drive?

Could try booting from a diskette and use Scandisk from DOS - but yeah, the actual error messages might help
