Windows 98 Boot disk ???

hi i was wondering why is it better to use a windows 98 boot disk sometimes instead of a regular boot disk .

Each version of Windows has it own version of boot diskette for using with that version of Windows. It has the same level of programs, utilities and COMMAND.COM and understands its file system.

Not sure you mean "regular boot disk". Each boot disk has a particular version of some OS on it, or a custom boot program. Now would you use a DOS 3.0 boot disk to delete and maybe DEFRAG your Window 98SE disk drive. If it sees the partition at all, it would trash your Long File Names.

He's not saying that there is no difference though is he.... He is saying you need the specific boot disk for your specific OS, otherwise problems can occur. Thus there IS a difference between them.
