If the swap file is managed by Windows, there is nothing wrong with it.It may help to run defrag on a regular basis to keep the swap file in one contiguous portion on the hard drive.If you have a spare hard drive( a few Go in size) you can transfer the swap file to it reducing the need to defrag frequently.The slave hard drive(or even better master on 2nd EIDE port) would be used for this only.Make changes to System propertites,Performance tab,Virtual memory to transfer to the 2nd hard drive(not a second partition on same drive).Good luck.
