I recently installed win me. Sometime when I boot up, the keyboard does not work. Rebooting solves problem. Same thing with my modem and cdrom drive. Control panel(system devices) shows the keyboard installed and working fine. Modem and cdrom are not even shown in system devices. Will welcome any help!

Go into Bios and set defaults, restart your computer, if thats doesn't work remove go in to safe-mode remove the devices one at a time from device manager starting from the CD Drive and work your way down.
