can anyone help i have just put a new dvd rom in and now i am having a problem with my systemboard error saying PnP B1OS not compatable can any one help pleaseeeeeeee

Hi, I think I know what the problem might be. Your computer just might be a little outdated and its motherboard w/ the BIOS probably isn't new enough to handle the newer technology of a DVD drive. In order to install the DVD drive and have it work with the system, I believe your solution might have to be to upgrade by buying a newer motherboard that would be compatible with it. I ran into a similar problem when I was formatting my drive and reinstalling operating systems. I had tried to install WinME and couldn't. It turned out my old motherboard and BIOS weren't compatible w/ it so I had to buy a new motherboard that would work w/ it. As far as I know, I don't think there are any other solutions besides buying a new motherboard. I could be wrong about this though.

hello go into bios and see if auto detect is set for secondary master and slave. allso set bios for plug and play. if it dose not have auto plug and play you will have to manualy enable irq shareing and posiblely i/o shareing. you might try doloading www.belarc.com and run belarc advisor and see what mobo you have and what bios .d/l mobo manual. it should explaian how to set manual irq,s is bios is not auto. you might also try checking out bios up date for your mobo. www.badflash.com
