Hello, basically what you need to do is set a partition on your computer, Windows wont load because it does not know where to load to. After you load the partitions in Dos then you will be fine. Also remember to use the boot disk first. That is how you install windows

This error message is caused because you're trying to install an OEM version of Windows ME on that computer. I haven't figured out how to trick the WinME setup CD into thinking that you have an OEM computer.

This error message has NOTHING to do with whether or not you've run fdisk/created a partition/formatted a partition/file system used to create the partition.

What it comes down to is that you're attempting to illegally install software that was purchased as an OEM product with a new computer on a 2nd computer. This is Microsoft's way of preventing you from breaking the law ;o)

Wrong. I get the same thing attempting to
install a legit Windoze ME upgrade onto a
disk on a Promise Ultra66 (i.e., offboard) interface.

Rumors that Windoze ME has to be installed
into an MS-DOS partition are false. I have
installed it onto a FAT32 partition (created
by mkdosfs under Linux) with no problems --
on a disk on an onboard IDE interface. Only
when I tried same on a Promise Ultra66 i/f
did I get SU0013.
The problem is that BIOS and IDE are brain-dead concepts.
