I have a dell inspiron 8100 laptop about 3 years old. i had a windows problem recently so i decided to re-install win me with the disk dell provided. after the re-install, everything is good until it attempts to set up the hardware/search for plug and play devices at the end, then it says "your program caused a divide overflow error, contact your vendor if this problem persists." i have gone into safe mode and did a virus scan and it turned up empty, i also deleted the winstart.bat and script.ini files, i have tried to re-install like 10 times trying maximum to minimum installations components. i want some data i have on the hard rive or i would reformat it. i tried the cdrw/ and an external hardrive via firewire to get the data off but they wont work in safe mode from the minimum drivers being loaded. dont know what else to do, any solutions or answers and you will be my new god. thnx
