Comment:

My comp kept on crashing, so I preformed a non-destuctive recovered with my cd's. But when it gets done with the 1st cd it says "warning! some files were not copied because the disk is damaged or cd-rom is malfunctioning-please reboot". The cd is fine and I have 2 cdroms and it does this in both. I could do a non-destructive recovery by inserting the second disk when it says "backing up sys files". But after I do all of this and run through "preparing your system" for 30 min, it just freezes on "updating hardware database" at 0%. I was able to restore my registry from a previous date and get online again. But now everytime I boot it goes through "preparing your system" and takes about 30 mins. Does any1 have any suggestions-thanx.

hello
goto c:windows\options\cabs\setup.exe
if you dubble click on setup.exe it will reinstall windows ontop of it self.
you might want to do this from safe mode that way nothing else is running and some systems ask for m.e serial number.
