A few months ago i installed win ME. Everything did fine, till one day. The system hung wile booting. So i formated my HD and have installed Win ME again. In the setup of Win ME your system has to restart and guess... it's still freezing! I can't continue my setup. I can go to MS-DOS mode. In DOS it tryed everything I know... PLEASE help!

is it freezing during setup? if it is... boot into safe mode by holding down the left control key during boot. when you get there... right click on 'my computer' go to properties and the device manager tab. remove anything listed under 'display adapter' and 'sound video and game controlers'. reboot... did setup continue? if not list your hardware here... we may be able to tell you if you have something that doesn't work with ME...

Take everything out of your computer sound cards zip drives, etc. Just leave in the bare minimum (m-board, video, ram, HD, floppy, CD-ROM). Before you do this check and make sure your BIOS is the most current and that it's compatible. Also check your BIOS and make sure everything is set properly. Install WinME and after installation install each card or drive one at a time. You'll find the card/drive thans hanging your computer that way.
